Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor's solicitations to wear 8oz gloves will be heard by the Nevada State Athletic Commission.
Current standards stipulate that 10oz gloves must be worn in all sessions in the 154lbs weight division, where the twosome will meet, however the open door exists to discover an understanding outside of those limits.
"Mayweather's group has, and McGregor's group are in the process of presenting a request," NSAC boss Bob Bennett solely revealed to Sky Sports. "It will be heard at the commission's next meeting."
McGregor's group had beforehand disclosed to Sky Sports that they anticipated that would wear direction measured 10oz gloves regardless of a claim from Mayweather that he would consent to 8oz renditions.
Inquired as to whether the NSAC had sufficient energy to contemplate the solicitations before the August 26 battle, Bennett stated: "Yes, obviously. They precede the commission, each gathering can examine their thinking. The executive and magistrates straightforwardly talk about the demand, and vote on it.
"Our directions require 10oz gloves. In any case, I won't state that there's no arrangements.
"The promoters have a lawful chance to present a waiver, at that point show up before our bonus to explain why they think we should make an exemption to our directions.
"This is a peculiarity. I haven't encountered this in more than three years at work. I checked with the past official executive – Hall of Famer Marc Ratner – and our program officer who has been here for a long time. To the best of their memory, we have never had a demand this way.
"However, the way that we've never gotten a demand does not invalidate the way that Mayweather and McGregor have the open door to present their own request."
Customary MMA gloves worn by McGregor in his UFC battles are 4oz, while Mayweather's past two sessions were challenged at 147lbs so he wasn't obliged to wear the 10oz forms that are right now stipulated.
